ARM Ferrous
The ARM Ferrous operations, held through its 50% investment in Assmang, consist of three divisions: iron ore, manganese and chrome. Assore Limited, ARM's partner in Assmang Limited, owns the remaining 50%.
Assmang’s operating divisions are based on its three principal commodities:
- The Iron Ore Division comprising the Beeshoek and Khumani Iron Ore Mine;
- The Manganese Division comprising the Nchwaning and Gloria Manganese Minesand the Cato Ridge Ferromanganese Works. In addition this division holds a 50 percent interest in Cato Ridge Alloys (Pty) Ltd, a joint venture between Assmang, Mizushima Ferroalloys Company Limited and Sumitomo Corporation; and
- The Chrome Division comprising the Dwarsrivier Chrome Mine and the Machadodorp Ferrochrome Works.
